Joy of Clickers: Discussion Forum

This discussion forum includes UB faculty members Alan Dick, Department Chair from Marketing Department in the School of Management and Clyde (Kipp) Herreid, Distinguished Teaching Professor from Department of Biological Sciences who will share their experiences about using clickers in the classroom.

Topics include:

  • Real-life academic experience and tips about adopting clickers into classroom teaching;
  • Students’ reaction to this classroom technology;
  • Students’ performance and the use of clickers;
  • What makes clickers unique?
  • Current picture of usage of classroom response system in higher-education;
  • Future development and advanced features of clickers;
  • Perspectives from using clickers on both Windows and Macintosh.
Megan Reed from Turning Technologies will also be on hand to demonstrate new clicker technologies including Responseware, which allows a laptop, mobile device, or cell phone with an Internet connection to act as a virtual clicker.
