Equipment

The TLC maintains a collection of technology equipment available for loan to faculty, instructors and staff who are engaged in the preparation of classroom content and other academic presentations. TLC equipment is meant to supplement technology resources already available through departments, the Academic Technology Nodes or Instructional Technology Support Services (ITSS).

TLC equipment available for loan includes digital still cameras, digital video cameras, LCD projectors, and laptop computers (both PC and Macintosh).

TLC equipment can be borrowed for up to seven days for use in academic-related projects. Long-term loan can be arranged for some equipment. Training is available for all of our equipment and may be required before the equipment can be borrowed.

The button below will let you search the TLC equipment to see what is available to borrow. The search results will also display if an item is currently checked out. To place a hold on equipment contact the TLC.

Digital Still & Video Cameras

Short-term loans of digital cameras (video and still) are available for educational projects or presentations. All tape, CD, stick or disk storage media are brand/model specific; one camera storage medium will be supplied with each equipment loan. Additional storage media are the responsibility of the borrower.

Long-term loans up to one semester are available by request and as equipment availability allows. Borrowers should make a compelling case for such extended use of the item. Faculty engaged in off-campus research or those conducting projects overseas are given first priority for long-term loans. This includes faculty members on professional leave, or during academic breaks.

Laptop Computers

Short-term loans of Windows-based PCs and one Macintosh are available for special projects or presentations.

All laptops are configured to TLC specifications using University owned or licensed software. Special software may be loaded on the machine by the user or by nodal or departmental technical support. TLC staff are not responsible for configuration or support of special software programs or licenses. All non-TLC software should be removed before return of the computer. The laptop will be re-imaged upon return, and all non-TLC software and files will be removed.

LCD Projectors

Short-term loans of LCD portable projectors are available for educational project-specific use. The TLC projection equipment is meant to be an occasional supplemental machine and is not intended to be used as a regular classroom tool where a technology classroom is needed.

Claims of Damage or Loss

Damaged, stolen, or lost materials will be replaced at the expense of the borrower. The value of lost or damaged equipment will be determined by TLC staff and will reflect the age, condition, and original invoice price of each item.
